It takes a lot of work to keep our vibrant co-op running! GVHH is made possible through the participation of parents. Each parent is expected to provide a service to keep the co-op running smoothly and efficiently.
We understand that everyone has different strengths and interests. Some may enjoy teaching while others are more comfortable working behind the scenes. We do our best to balance your strengths and interests with the needs of the co-op. Even with this being the case, you should expect to be assigned to teach a class at some point during the year.
Each session, parents will be assigned a specific duty based on the top three preferences listed on the volunteer portion of the registration form.
We can not guarantee that your preference will be met each session. We also try to change up the duties assigned to parents each session.
What would a co-op be without teachers?!? Both core and elective classes are available to choose from. Core subject lesson plans are provided to assure little to no prep work. If you have a passion, or a special talent you would love to share, offer to teach an elective or extra-curricular class. (For example: sewing, arts & crafts, cooking, music etc.)
Without teachers, we have no class and no fun!
Teachers receive a discount on class fees and registration.
*50% off class fees for up to 2 participating children and a reduced registration fee.
Be a Teacher's Assistant
Teacher's Assistants are so important! As a Teacher's Assistant, you would take attendance, grade papers, make copies and help the kids with their work during class. This job makes such a difference!
Work at the Check-In Desk
As a Check-In Desk Volunteer, you get to greet our families and give them their first impression of the co-op! Duties include taking temperatures and COVID Screening, issuing name badges, handing out event flyers and other important news, and making sure everyone knows where their classes are. This job is critical to keeping our co-op open during the pandemic, but even better, your friendly face will help our co-op families feel welcomed!
Set Up and Tear Down
We are so thankful to Grace Community Church for allowing us to use their facility for our co-op. It is our goal to always leave the church even better than when we arrived. As a Set-Up or Tear Down Volunteer, you can help us reach that goal. The Set-Up position includes moving/setting up/Sanitizing tables and chairs as needed, setting up the Check-In Desk, and ensuring that everything is ready to go for the day. The Tear-Down position involves placing these same tables and chairs back to where they were found, sanitizing and general cleaning.
