Middle School Classes
These classes are appropriate for children from fifth to eighth grade unless otherwise indicated in the class description. Please see our "Class Registration" page for specific class dates and registration fees.
Have time between classes? This Spring, we are excited to offer our new Game Room, a place where our registered students can take a break, play and socialize in a safe, supervised environment. There is no fee for our Game Room.

Geography
World Geography
In this class, students will learn about culture, climate and terrain of our world. This class includes great hands on activities as the students explore culture through in-class crafts. This class is designed for assignments to be completed at home throughout the week with in-class lectures, discussions and activities.

Science
"Focus on Astronomy":
Each week, we will read and review a chapter in "Focus Middle School Astronomy" from Real Science 4 Kids. Worksheets will be provided. Hands on activities are planned throughout the semester. Homework will be given each week. A planet poster and planet cutout will be provided to finish at home. Posters will be due by the next class. This class will be graded on participation and homework completion.

History
Colonial America:
Come with us on an adventure to colonize the "New World"! Each week will have a power point and class discussion about the "who, what, when, where and why?". We will learn about the struggle for a continent, not just between Europeans, but for the Indigenous people as well. We will have many hands-on activities or crafts such as: candle making, butter, hard tack, DIY sextant and more! There will be a required book study to correlate with our history lessons. In the first 6 weeks, specific chapters will be assigned to be read by the student or aloud by the parent. In class book discussions will follow. This class will be graded on assignment completion and class participation.

Spanish
Spanish 102
This is a continuation from Spanish 101. Students will continue to expand their new language through animated stories, online games, worksheets, flash cards and more. We will also enjoy some cuisine from Mexico and Spain! We will be using Muzzy BBC, which includes an at-home subscription for practice and growth. This class is designed for assignments to be completed at home throughout the week with in-class lessons, practice and activities.

Star Wars
Each week we will have a Star Wars themed activity or craft. Students will come away with many forms of Star Wars themed art, such as: a lighted saber silhouette picture, R2-D2 pencil holder, DIY window clings, Perler bead art, Wampa snow globe, and more!

Piano
Piano 103
This is the third class in a series and is only available to students continuing from Piano 102. In this class, the students will continue to expand their knowledge of music theory as they graduate to more complicated pieces. At the end of this class, students will be able to play with both left and right hand and improve their ability to sight read notes on the grand staff.

P.E
In this class we will have critical thinking challenges in a fun environment, promote an active lifestyle, develop teamwork and leadership skills, physical fitness challenges that may include soccer or rely races, build healthy bones, reduce stress and build self esteem. P.E is so important for our mental and physical well being. I can't wait to have fun with you this semester and grow together! * This is a multi-aged class.

Pre-Algebra
In this math class we will using, Math Mammoth Grade 7 for Pre-Algebra. You can get it digitally and print yourself, or buy it pre-printed.
This is the second class in this series, we will be started on chapter 5. This class will not be graded, it is based on skill mastery.

Language Arts
In this class, students will be focusing on reading and writing skills. We will be starting with basic grammar and writing skills (adjectives, sentence types, sentence building, punctuation and more). We will practice writing and editing different types of paragraphs or short essays. The last 6 weeks we will discuss chapters read at home from "TBD" and end with writing a book report.

Exploring Art History
The best way to study art is to create it! In this class, students will use multiple media such as acrylic, chalk pastels, pencils and markers to create art in the style of the artists we study. We will study types from Impressionism , Pop Art, Pointillism and more! This class is appropriate for students ages 10-18.

Game Room ~ Free Period
This room will be designated for those students with a "free period", between other classes. This is for all school ages. The room will be monitored by a Parent/Volunteer at all times. Different types of board games, cards etc. will be available for play.
