Attendance Policy

Illnesses

With the spread of the COVID pandemic, we are doing everything we can to ensure the safety and health of all of our members.  We also want to ensure our co-op remains open and operational for the full semester.

If you, your child, or anyone in your household becomes ill, we ask that you do not come to the co-op and that you notify Genevieve as soon as possible.  We will work with you on a return plan based on your situation.  While we understand that not all illnesses are COVID related, we do need to take certain precautions.  Please give as much notice as possible, especially if you are a teacher or if you have volunteer duties that day that need to be filled by someone else.

Other Absences

Good attendance is essential to the learning process and shows respect to the teacher.  We ask that you avoid absences to the best of your ability and plan vacations outside of the scheduled semester.  Planning to "make up work later" is not a good strategy as the instruction missed during class is often key to the ability to complete the at-home work.

We do understand that things can happen in life beyond your control.  When absence is unavoidable, please notify Genevieve as soon as possible.

Tardiness

Please arrive early enough to ensure that you and your child have time to sign-in, get your badges and get to the classrooms on time.  Showing up late can be distracting to the class and can lead to the loss of important instruction from the teacher.  We do not require that you notify us that you will late unless you are a teacher or have a volunteer duty that will be affected.
